This 4 day gorilla habituation experience package is a grand Uganda gorilla safari package offering you a face to face encounter with mountain gorillas and spend 4 hours in their presence, gorilla habituation experience is only done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the whole world. 

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the best gorilla destination in the world hosting half of the remaining mountain gorilla population, the park currently has two gorilla families which are open for gorilla habituation experience. On this safari package, you will trek and have an encounter with one semi-habituated gorilla family and spend 4 hours with them observing their behavior and learning more about their behaviors and traits.

DETAILED ITINERARY OF 4 DAYS GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE 

Day 1: Arrival 

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative of BAGIZI TOURS and transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you will a city tour visiting places like the Uganda Museum, The Kasubi Tombs and local Markets like Owino for shopping. 

Have dinner and overnight as you prepare for a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the following day. 

Accommodation: The Kampala Sheraton Hotel or Kampala Serena Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi 

Have early breakfast, meet your guide and embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s Rushaga Sector. From Kampala to Nkuringo, it is a drive of about 9-10 hours with a stopover at the equator crossing for pictures and in Mbarara for lunch. 

As you drive through the Kigezi, you will enjoy scenic views of Kigezi rolling hills and valleyes. Arrive in the park in evening, check in at your lodge. After freshening up, you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Forest 

Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters as early as 07:00 am for briefing about gorilla habituation experience, a senior ranger will take you through rules and regulations to follow during the trek then head to the starting point in groups of 4 people. 

The trek takes about 2 to 6 hours to locate the gorillas, on this experience visitors are joined by researchers and scientists tracking down the gorillas. As trek through the forests, you will encounter other 11 primates in the forest such as chimpanzees, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys. 

One of the first indication that you are about to find the gorillas is their nests, when you locate the gorillas, you are allowed to spend four hours in their presence observing their behavior, learning about their individual characteristics, names and get to even feed them under the guidance of rangers and scientists. 

You are allowed to take pictures and videos as long as your flashlight is off, after the experience you will trek back to the back’s headquarters to meet your guide and pick your gorilla habituation certificates. Return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge, in the evening you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Departure

 Have early breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala, along the way you will have lunch in Mbarara and proceed to Kampala arriving in late afternoon. You will be dropped off either at your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
