Overview
This classic of nature is an escape into the remarkable surprises of Uganda’s endowment. The 5days safari will give you a taste of Kibale Forest N.P where you enter the “Primate Capital” to track chimps and variety of other primates like L’Hoest monkeys, Red colobus, Olive baboons- the park is home to 13 primate species with 1450chimps not leaving out the 372bird species. Discover Semliki, one of Uganda’s smallest but gifted National Park with 53mammal species, of which some haven’t been recorded anywhere.

Itinerary
Day 01: Depart from Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale National Park –About 5hours of driving
Breakfast in Kampala or Entebbe, briefing from the guide and embark on the drive to Fort Portal-westwards to Kibale. Enjoy beautiful views of the rolling savanna and rock outcrop countryside through Mubende and Kyenjojo. Lunch in Fort Portal and proceed to the park. Relax at the lodge in the evening or opt for a short nature walk. Full Board, overnight Kyaninga lodge/Ndali/ Crater lodge (Luxury) or Chimpanzee forest lodge/Crater safaris lodge (midrange) or Primate lodge/Rweteera safari Park (basic)
Day 02: Chimpanzee tracking and Bird watching
Begin with breakfast at the lodge, head for registration –at Kanyancu, start the memorable experience of tracking—0800hrs. The 2-3hrs activity leads you to close contact of these humans in the wild enjoying the backdrop sounds of nature with pant-hooting chimp calls & melodies from birds. Lunch at the lodge, proceed for an evening nature walk in search of some of the 372bird species such as the Black bee-eater, Blue breasted kingfisher, and Crowned Eagle. Day 03: Primate Watch and Community walk in Bigodi later head to Semliki –About 2hrs drive
Breakfast at the lodge, head with the guide to Bigodi wetland sanctuary –a wildlife corridor to Kibale for a guided walk expecting to come across a number of primates like the Black & white colobus, Grey cheeked Mangabey and L’Hoest monkeys among others. Lookout for birds like the Great blue Turaco, hornbills, cranes, kingfishers and other swamp endemics as you enjoy some forest pathways on boardwalks. Lunch and later transfer to Semliki. Overnight at Semliki safari lodge (luxury) or Ntoroko lodge/ Kirimia guesthouse (basic), Full Board
Day 04: Bird watching and nature walk expedition
Breakfast at the lodge, prepare to discover the hidden treasures in Semliki. Partake in a nature walk /birding trek in quest of some of the 400bird species not limited to the Yellow-throated nicator, Great blue & Ross’ turacos, Piping hornbill, and the prehistoric Shoebill stork in neighboring Rwangara wetland. Lunch at the lodge or picnic, proceed with an afternoon forest walk. Expect not to miss-out on the male and female hot springs. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Full Board
Day 05: Travel back to Kampala/Entebbe –About 6hours drive
After a delightful breakfast at the lodge, with flashing memories of this classic wildlife safari prepare well and check-out. Later we embark on our drive back to Kampala/ Entebbe. Lunch will be en-route.
