A 5 day wildlife safari in Uganda takes you to some of the country's most prominent national parks, which are home to a plethora of different animals and fascinating scenery. Experience the excitement of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the stunning splendour of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will participate in Mountain Gorilla trekking, Wildlife safari game drives, boat cruises, and other activities.

Day 1: Visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will be welcomed by a representative at Entebbe International Airport and transported to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The 8-hour trip offers breathtaking vistas of the Ugandan landscape, including undulating hills and lush green forests. You'll settle into your lodge and stay the night before your gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking safari

Today is the highlight of your safari when you experience gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in Uganda, is a world-renowned destination for Mountain Gorilla trekking and is home to the endangered Mountain Gorilla. This ancient forest is one of the oldest in Africa and provides a unique opportunity to see gorillas in their natural habitat.

A Uganda Gorilla Safari to Bwindi is a once in a lifetime experience and should be on every nature lover’s bucket list. The forest covers an area of over 320 square kilometers and is known for its challenging terrain. However, with the help of experienced ranger guides and porters, visitors can embark on a trek that will take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours.

After an early briefing, you will join a group of other trekkers and be guided by a knowledgeable Uganda wildlife authority ranger guide as you search for one of the park's 20 habituated gorilla families. The hike may be strenuous, but the experience of getting up up and personal with these incredible monkeys is definitely worth it. After the journey, you will return to your resort for a well-deserved rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Queen Elizabeth National Park, named after the previous Queen of England, was founded in 1954 and is located in western Uganda.
It is one of the most beautiful and diverse national parks in the country, with the most animal species (95) and the most bird species (729) of any protected region in Uganda, according to Avibase.
It is a must-see destination for every wildlife enthusiast, spanning over 1,978 square kilometres and home to a plethora of creatures, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse ecosystems.

The park's various ecosystems, which include savannah grasslands, equatorial forests, and volcanic craters, are home to a rich range of animals, including lions, leopards, hyenas, and many other species. Visitors will depart with wonderful experiences from game drives in the park, which provide an exceptional opportunity to watch these incredible species in their native environment.

Wildlife safari game drive in Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you will travel through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park . The Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park is another feature, known for its tree-climbing lions. Visitors may watch these beautiful carnivores reclining in the branches of fig trees, making for an unforgettable game drive experience. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to observe lions in an entirely new context, and it is a must-see for any wildlife fan.

Day 4: Afternoon boat cruise and Wildlife Safari game drive

Get up early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you'll explore the park's different ecosystems and look for species including lions, leopards, hyenas, and more. Following the wildlife drive, return to your resort for a leisurely lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat tour. This is an excellent opportunity to watch wildlife from a different angle while also enjoying the park's quiet beauty.

The Kazinga Channel, a 40-kilometer-long canal connecting Lake Edward and Lake George, is one of the park's most prominent features. The Kazinga Channel is home to a diverse range of animals, including elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, hippopotamus and more than 400 bird species. Visitors may enjoy the serene beauty of the park by taking a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, watching the wildlife from a fresh perspective.

Day 5: Morning wildlife drive before departing for Kampala

Today is your final chance to experience a morning wildlife drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park before heading for Kampala. You will be taken to Entebbe International Airport in time for your trip home, carrying with you memorable memories of your 5 day Uganda wildlife safari.
